Bron: studies van groepen apen zoals chimpansees. Met name binnen groepen. Veel minder tussen groepen. Tussen groepen is diezelfde moraliteit soms ver te zoeken.
”’De Nederlandse etholoog Frans de Waal”’ neemt de 79ste plaats in op de Time Magazine Top 100 met de ”’meest invloedrijke mensen ter wereld”’. De Waal doet in de Verenigde Staten onderzoek naar het gedrag van apen en schreef hierover reeds acht boeken. Zijn meeste recente ‘Primates & Philosophers’ verscheen eerder dit jaar in de VS. Vanaf deze week ligt de vertaling ‘Apen & denkers’ ook hier in de boekhandel. De Waal keert zich tegen de theorie dat de menselijke moraal door cultuur wordt bepaald. Volgens De Waal is de moraal juist een product van de evolutie en bewijst dit met zijn uitgebreide onderzoek naar apen.

In de ring voor democratie
Bijzonder veel dank aan de [http://www.boeddhistischeomroep.nl/ Boeddhistische Omroep Stichting] voor de prachtige uitzending [http://www.boeddhistischeomroep.nl/uitzending.aspx?lIntEntityId=859&lIntType=0 In de ring voor democratie]:
:In het kader van de themaweek over democratie bij de publieke omroep heeft wereldkampioen boksen en boeddhist Lucia Rijker gesprekken met vier mensen uit verschillende disciplines over wat democratie voor hen persoonlijk betekent.
Diep spul dat aanzet tot nadenken en (zelf)reflectie. Tussen de regels door ”’voel” je de waarheid. En het geeft—als je er open voor staat en de antennes er voor hebt—een glimp van het “beloofde land”…
…Want dat zit er, hoe je het ook wend of keert, aan te komen. Aarde kruipt in versneld tempo naar een volgende orde toe. Aarde is begonnen aan een ”’metamorfose”’.
Net zoals de vlinder doorbreekt uit de rups, dient zich op dit moment een nieuwe verschijningsvorm aan. Echter nu op wereldschaal. Deze nieuwe Aarde verschilt kwalitief, dus kwa aard, enorm van de verschijnselen waaruit zij is ontstaan. En deze metamorfose is, net als bij de overgang van rups naar vlinder, ”’een strijd van leven en dood voor beide vormen”’.
De vlinder wil echter ontstaan, doorbreken. En dat gaat ten koste van de rups. Dus wat wil op dit moment doorbreken? Wij weten het nog niet. Maar dat het ”’onvermijdelijk”’ is en dat het anders zal zijn en dat veel van onze huidige handelingen en processen drastisch zullen veranderen staat als een paal boven water. We staan voor een splitsing.
Dat geeft hoop, althans voor mij. Ik zet me schrap voor de innerlijke strijd op wereldschaal en kijk met verlangen uit naar de nieuwe, aanstaande vorm.
En democratie, zo zie een van de sprekers, is de minst slechte van alle slechte systemen. Wat is de volgende cratie, zo vraag ik kij dan af. Mijn punten en aandacht gaan daarvoor op dit moment naar [http://holacratie.nl holacratie].
